Copyright and licensing

The information and data on this website and available through the RESTful and SOAP Application Programming Interfaces (APIs), accessible from within this website, are owned by the Crown or its licensors. Anyone can utilise such information and data free of charge and without permission of MED provided that:

  • the information and data are not altered;
  • the information and data are not used in a context which could bring MED or the Crown into disrepute; and
  • to the greatest extent reasonably practicable, the source and copyright status of the information and data are acknowledged.

For the avoidance of doubt, this copyright statement does not prevent developers and other users from combining the information and data with other data and applications for the purpose of creating mash-ups or otherwise exploiting or adding value to the original data sources. The prohibition on altering the information and data is only intended to ensure that the integrity and accuracy of the source information and data are preserved and not distorted in any way which could bring the reputation or utility of the National Broadband Map into question.
